With every new install of Ubuntu I encounter this same old unfixed bug. My Thinkpad X200 (and many other TPs) don’t remember the bluetooth state (OFF) between boot cycles. It’s well known (Bug #280811), but has low priority, also due to the fact that there is various workarounds.
- Make sure all custom powersaving options are disabled in /etc/rc.local
- If installed, remove laptop-mode-tools
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:linrunner/tlp sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get install tlp
Now you’ll be able to disable bluetooth with the terminal command
Open the StartupApplication dialog and add this command as a new entry. On reboot bluetooth should be disabled.
