pdflatex | change image format priority

Compiling a LaTeX document with pdflatex, the compiler uses the PNG instead of PDF version of identical graphics by default. Sometimes you might prefer including the vector based PDF version. So in order to change this setting include the following lines on the top of your tex document.

\DeclareGraphicsExtensions{%
    .pdf,.PDF,%
    .png,.PNG,%
    .jpg,.mps,.jpeg,.jbig2,.jb2,.JPG,.JPEG,.JBIG2,.JB2}
